They should be happy that he was alive and well. When they saw that he's alive and well, they shouldn't have even cared about him spending $967 on room service. Let the $967 go to hell. They should have been happy that Kevin was alive and well.

I find it particularly stupid, considering how rich that family is. $967 is a drop in the bucket for them.

But then again, this movie was pretty much a similar story to the previous film, so they had to do something at the end that was similar to "KEVIN!! What did you do to my room?!"
