They should be happy that he was alive and well. When they saw that he's alive and well, they shouldn't have even cared about him spending $967 on room service. Let the $967 go to hell. They should have been happy that Kevin was alive and well.
Considering they were staying in the biggest suite for free, and the Plaza would be very eager to keep the whole story under wraps, it probably wouldn't be hard for Peter and Kate to convince them to wave the charges.
And if that doesn't work, politely remind them that those charges were made on a credit card that was reported stolen before the charges. So unless they want to have a very angry conversation with a Visa representative, they would take care of it themselves.
Exactly. No way they had to pay it. It was just a funny way to end the film, kind of a 'reset', like Buzz finding out Kevin had fd up his room at the end of the first.
The charge didn't appear to be that high I would of expected it to be much higher for a hotel like that.
Most hotels even low standard ones charge like $20 just for peanuts and Keven loaded up on everything from the room plus had all those extras like limo.
I love the joke made in the Pitch Meeting series on YouTube about it being somewhat unrealistic that the dad would be so angry about that bill when he paid at least several times that to fly 14 people from Miami to New York (after flying them all to Miami from Chicago) on short notice during the Holidays
I agree. Besides, i was confused as to how the room service cost that much.. I understand hotels charge an arm and a leg, but it was the 90s.. He didnt really get that much other than the desserts, dry cleaning and rental videos. Maybe $500-$600 worth.
Whereas the pizza and limo were ‘compliments’ on the hotel, due to the fact that the concierge was shaken up by believing he had walked in on a guest in the shower and wanted to smooth things over.
If there were other costs that went unseen within the movie, then the parents should of been happy that he figured out a way to feed himself- obviously he was going to choose a child-like diet. The only people they had to blame for the bill was themselves for being so irresponsible as to lose their kid for a second time. Kevin always copped the unfair brunt of other peoples wrongdoings.
It doesn't matter how rich a dad might be, or how relieved he is that his kid is safe, if he sees that anybody charged anything to room service without his permission he's going to be pissed.
And of course they aren't paying for it. They're probably taking it right downstairs to the concierge, handing it back to him and just simply saying "Nope".
