Did anyone see this in the Theaters?

I saw this in about May 1992- at the Lowe's Theater at Tysons Corner, Virginia. I had just turned 13 years old. The lead actress- Rebecca De Mornay reminded me of a girl I had a crush on at horse camp. The movie was intense for my age.

Saw this in the theaters and scared me (I've never been much of horror movie person, but a friend really wanted to see it). We were technically too young to see it so we bought two tickets for Fried Green Tomatoes and my sister and her friend bought HTRTC tickets. We traded the tickets after we got in. Before the show started ushers started going around the auditorium checking tickets and ID's of underage patrons. Movie started when they were three rows in front of us.

I did, I was in high school. I remember people groaning when Dr. Mott didn't put his glove on before examining Claire.

was it a loud groan? 

I saw it and it played so well with the full theater I was in. They applauded (and hollered with glee) when Clare punched Peyton over the kitchen table, screamed when Peyton appeared around the corner in the stairway, applauded when Emma locked Peyton in the nursery, and applauded/gasped/"ohhhhh!" at the finale. Needless to say, this movie had that audience in the palm of its hand.

Yep, everyone loved this film in the theater. I was 19. Good times.

I invited a pretty girl to see "Father of the Bride" in early 1992. That was a first date. When leaving the movie theater parking lot I backed into a parked car! I almost fled the scene, but fortunately I stayed. It turns out I had crashed the movie theater's manager's car! She was a nice middle aged woman. I offered to pay for all damages and we did the repairs at a friend's shop. The woman was nice about the whole thing and gave me a bunch of movie passes that I could use in various theaters in that general area. That's how I watched THTRTC at a theater. For free ;-)
