Colin Farrell blew it out of the f*ing park with his portrayal of “The Penguin” which IS the way he always should have been portrayed as a straight up gangster/thug. Same with Joker who also was a gangster before being Joker.

No “quack”, no penguins, no claws or top hat OR umbrella’s but yet the HBO series was WORLDS ahead of this, and the Penguin in here.

Farrell was fantastic, but DeVito was great in his own way.

The Penguin in this is such a Tim Burton creation more than anything else. He loves his misunderstood freaks and I feel it works great in this world. Burton never really wanted to make something so adherent to the lore of the comics and all that. I admire both iterations
