The leg crossing interview scene.I dont get it. There some kind of in joke about it?

The overhyped leg crossing interview scenee whatever it is where Wayne Knight gets all sweaty and hot and bothered when Sharon Stone keeps crossing her legs back and forth.

There an in joke that I dont get? The scene supposed to hint at something that makes it look like shes not wearing underwear or something?

reply

Exactly right. The scene garnered a lot of hype because Sharon Stone was not wearing underwear and there was a clear shot of her pubic region. Apparently, she later stated that she was not originally aware that the scene was shot that way and did not consent to her pubic region being displayed on film.

reply

David Spade did a funny Weekend Update bit in that claim if hers.

What do you mean "hint"? We see her put on the dress without any underwear.

reply

that doesent mean the later scene with the interview was showing the real goods, could be a stunt vag , or flesh coloured underwear or something.
The overhyped clip really doesent show much

reply

I didn't imply it showed the "real goods".

reply

Yes it does, you see her ‘goods’ quite clearly: https://www.celebritymoviearchive.com/tour/movie.php/25787

From what I recall the brief glimpse which revealed Sharon Stone had gone commando was snipped out for release in some areas. I saw it on release in the UK - my friends and I had front row seats because the screening was sold out - and honestly, I can't remember the shot at all. I have seen it on stills in the years since and yes, it's very obvious and not at all a 'hint'!

It's a statement about how easily men are manipulated by a beautiful woman.

*straight men

reply

True, but LGBT combined are less than 5% of the population according to Gallup, so I'm not sure it's necessary to make the distinction about a tiny minority in every conversation.

reply

It's because Newman ate spicy chicken at Kenny Rogers Roasters prior to being called to interrogate the woman on charges of mail fraud.

reply

When I watch that scene all that I can hear is Leslie Neilson saying, Nice Beaver.

reply

Big deal at the time but in 2020 ?

reply

It was the pre-Brazilian wax era too. Nasty.

reply

It was fine, shaven where it needed to be and the main bush area was trimmed and light coloured. Not overbearing at all, just a little ‘broader’ than the landing strips of today.
