Exactly right. The scene garnered a lot of hype because Sharon Stone was not wearing underwear and there was a clear shot of her pubic region. Apparently, she later stated that she was not originally aware that the scene was shot that way and did not consent to her pubic region being displayed on film.

that doesent mean the later scene with the interview was showing the real goods, could be a stunt vag , or flesh coloured underwear or something.

I saw it on release in the UK - my friends and I had front row seats because the screening was sold out - and honestly, I can't remember the shot at all. I have seen it on stills in the years since and yes, it's very obvious and not at all a 'hint'!
