Alien 3 is considered to be one of the franchise's worst movies. But it would've been even worse if the producers used Eric Red's original script.

shareSounds very bad. On the other hand, I think the film we got was actually pretty good and even better in the (sorta kinda) director's cut that has been assembled.
What we have are a stunningly good "haunted house in space". An excellent Vietnam allegory which is built around a damaged Ripley. AND. A wonderfully bleak coda which gives Ripley a great death. After that, nothing matters, although Aliens and Predators do go well together.
Haha, I read that script and I remember enjoying it quite a bit. It's basically hillbillies versus Aliens.
I'll grant that it was too early in the series to be doing something that goofy, but they probably could've went there with, say, one of the Alien Vs. Predator movies.
