Did anyone here on Moviechat actually see this in the theater?

Saw it when it released on VHS. It was a big deal. Subway stores all decked out in t2 swag, toy stores with tons of t2 merch (I always wanted that endoskeleton assembly line toy)

Yes I saw this in the theater, it was the biggest blockbuster of the time. It had a marketing blitz that would become the norm, firstly with the hit Guns n Roses track that was wildly successful and was on MTV constantly, it was a daily reminder of the film. Plus, there was the innovative hit T2: The Arcade Game, plus an outstanding T2 pinball machine.

I saw it in the theater with my brother. It's one of the top 5 movies I've seen in a theatre. The other 4 being Saving Private Ryan, 1917, The Dark Knight Rises and Mad Max: Fury Road. (Honorable mention Return of the Jedi)

Yes, I saw this when it came out when I was in Great Lakes Chicago after graduating bootcamp and saw it with a few buddies at the time. Excellent theatre going experience

Saw it on the premier, it was jam-packed and people went wild whenever Arnold did something cool.
