Anyone else in love with the Iowa house?

I think I turn this on when it's showing on TV mainly just to see Laura/Sara's house in Iowa. I love it. Has anyone seen this house? Is it in Abbeville, SC, too? Ben's house next door is gorgeous, too.

It is gorgeous :) I would love to live there

One of my Julia Roberts favs and I always comment on their houses, the porch swings, pretty.

I live in Iowa and grew up in a sleepy little town. There are beautiful homes like that all over. And it's possible to rent for $700 if you don't mind living in the middle of nowhere. I'm in Des Moines so it's not possible in the city but would be in the middle of nowhere ville.

I actually think that paying $700 way back in 1991 in a sleepy Iowa university town is an outrageously high rent!

In 2005 I paid close to $900 for a two bedroom apartment 50 minutes away from Boston in a charming old turn of the century house which just got renovated.
Was looking for less rent for weeks and weeks, but to no avail.

Absolutely love it!! Especially when she spruces it up and adds the plants. I really like the scene where she is enjoying the sunset on the front porch. I'm originally from the Midwest and it wouldn't be difficult to find a house like that for the price depending on where it is.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I love it too. The swing, everything, it's just so beautiful, yet comfortable. The house Laura and Martin lived in on Cape Cod was gorgeous too, but it didn't seem very comfortable. I would love to have a house like the one Laura rented in Iowa!

I love houses like that. It has an old charm that I love.

reply

Yes, I've been there in 1998 (see my older post).

It always made me think of a house that would be on a farm. I sure wouldn't mind living in something like that today. Be nice to have a house with such charm these days.
