In this film, Jennifer Connelly was really super hot, then she went and got breast reduction surgery. In "A Beautiful Mind", she looks totally different and not nearly as attractive.
Note to all women reading this: Please do NOT get breast reduction surgery. Real women have curves.
Jennifer Connelley is really the only reason to watch this movie. She is STUNNINGLY gorgeous -- like a brunette version of Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vita.
But I also agree that subsequent her weight loss destroyed her looks. It aged her terribly. I don't think she had reduction surgery -- she just starved herself, due to Hollywood standards (which are largely made by men who, you know, aren't attracted to women in the first place).
If she had kept the weight, or even become fuller, I'm certain that she would look far more beautiful today, and would have looked better throughout her career. Her appearance here and in Career Opportunities constitutes one of the very few instances in which Hollywood actually showcased an attractive, curvy, feminine figure.
And then Hollywood sadly got into her head... and she's been unhealthily thin-looking for the past 13 years or so. But as long as she's healthy, it shouldn't matter what she looks like today compared to more than 20 years ago, right? :P Man, she was a stunning, eye-popping beauty back in the day!
