does the music annoy anyone else?
To me it sounds like it's trying too hard to be 'western-y'.
ugh.

Yeah, the score didn't really suit the Australian setting..
shareI liked the score, but honestly, I would've liked it more if it had had more Austrailian influences in it, it was too "American" for me. However, it did fit the movie and the character.
I stick my neck out for nobody- Rick Blaine, Casablanca
The music is by Basil Pouledouris, who is awesome.
The only music I didn't like in the movie was the one used for comical moments. That sounded right out of a bad TV show or cartoon.
I think to me in tone the film didn't know if it was serious or comical.. This is reflected in the score I think. Maybe it is just my imagination.
shareMy only complaint with the music is that, from Quigley's arrival in port to his arrival at Marston's, the main theme has been repeated about 87 times.
Gets kinda monotonous.
After that, Basil's score was fine.
Not at all.
Try another movie or try to remove music labels in your head.
Excellent score from BP, just wish there had been more of it.
Not I.
shareNot me. I actually like it.
