Awful, just plain awful

NOW, even if some (not so "quick") people love this, it´s to my meaning NOT an acquiring of taste. Rather bad taste, if that´s the opinion!

Maybe it could work for a 12-14 year...boy...thirty years ago...

wish the producing money could be recycled to charity.

by far the worst movie for following actors: Bruce Willis Danny Aiello
Andie McDowell James Coburn David Caruso (although it's quite fun to see
him overact in this small role) maybe the rest also...

I believe most of them wish they would have been edited off.

Well, I am definitely sorry that this movie's humor is not agreeable to you.

For myself, I absolutely love this movie, and can't wait to show it off to people.

Of course, this comes from a guy who loves Time Bandits, Kung Pow, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Wrongfully Accused, Scott Pilgrim and Monty Python (the TV show).

I suppose if everyone had the same tastes, life would be kinda boring. So huzzah for you, sir! I heartily commend you for feeling free to dislike some movies, to like others, and to express those opinions (though I hope, in the future, that your tone might be less assumptive or dismissive).

I, for one, will do the same.

You're too nice, Jinkywilliams-1. The right answer to the OP's comment is "I guess intelligent humor ain't humorous to the unintelligent."

reply

It's a piece of *beep*

reply

I agree, as does the masses, giving it around an average of 5.4. I have about
20 minutes to go on it (I'm watching the whole thing???)......but what the heck?
I just compare this with Schwarzenegger's The Last Action Hero, but actually this film (Hawk) is more interesting. That Sandra Bernhard is the ugliest actress of all time, but she sure is popular (to Madonna). Willis plays his typical smart aleck character. But the humor, the story, blech!

reply

The very fact that you have to insult people for liking this movie just shows that you really shouldn't be talking about other people's intelligence.

reply

Wha'?

I'm sorry but you don't know what you are talking about. I'll tune in next week to see what the critics have told you what to think of the movies coming out this week.

One of the most underrated movies of the 90's without a doubt.

I saw this when I was pretty young about 15 years ago, I loved it then, still love it.
Only in recent times have I discovered that people hate it but I genuinely don't understand why. To me it has just the right balance of comedy and action. Bruce is great in it. I was also a big fan of moonlighting back then too.

reply

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the OP thought the 60s Batman TV series was supposed to be totally serious, too.

reply

I was just watching this on HBO...and yeah, I think it's terrible.

I was 18 when it came out even, but was too busy seeing T2 I guess.

It's level of humor is comparable to that of those Date Movie/Epic Movie/ Meet the Spartans movies. Just dreadful.

reply

Phew! You sure take a long time to see a movie, mate.

Yup - lots of people agreed with you.

Please do not make negative comments about a film YOU NEVER SAW. It makes you look stupid.

This movie was pretty terrible. I got it in a three pack. The last several minutes was the worst. But it is worth watching for the WTF? moments. I had to replay the "Want me to rape em?" scene to make sure I heard it right. Like where the hell did that come from? I also liked the part where he fell getting out of the port o potty and introduces himself as Butterfinger lol. It sucked but still worth a look for all the randomness if you like that sort of thing.

reply

@tsw453 I must have the same three-pack. Blind Date and Striking Distance?

HH does have some good moments, but it's still a terrible movie. Action-comedies need to go easy on the comedy, and Willis hadn't learned that lesson yet.

I agree. This was so bad it's one of the very few I've never been able to sit through till the end. A real stinker! Incredible to think the producers spent the money they did on it.
