I mean, this was set at the time where there was no ipads or tablets or anything so it couldn't be possible that it was mistaken for some kind of computerized portable electrical appliance.

It's a plot hole. Now that I think about it, I'm amazed they didn't burn her at the stake before heading off to the castle. I guess they were too distracted by the confrontation with Gaston.

Holding the glass with rose under it. He looks gentle. What was in the mirror was almost a vision of his former self before he fell in love with Belle. I guess be careful what wish for really means something in this movie, foreshadowing Aladdin.

A lot of people could easily misinterpret that as a threatening form of growling, roaring, and showing his teeth, because they didn't know the whole story. In fact, as a kid, I myself thought he was roaring.

The people didn't think much of the magic mirror. Then again they were all loyal buffoons of Gaston who were too full of it to see he was a corrupt person.
