SOMETHING MUST BE DONE

To all the kids of the 90's out their, who are sick to death of seeing our memories of Nickelodeon disappear like they were never there, listen up.Over the past 5-6 years our shows have slowly been taken off the air one by one until their was nothing left but anime *beep* and shows about 13 girls with to many problems. No new nick show could ever replace the old school nick of the 90's. It was the times, when kids would be kids. They wouldnt be dressing like miniature prostitutes and looking up to Vanessa Hudgens and her naked cell phone pictures. We kids of the 90's feel this way because Old School Nick is something we grew up with. We loved those shows. And we will for the rest of our lives. I mean, no new shows could ever replace the good times we had watching All That on Snick, or watching AHHH Real Monsters and Rocko before we went school, or staying up late to watch Doug,Rugrats,and Clarissa. I may only be speaking for myself, but those were some of the happiest moments of my life. They could never be replaced by any of this Unfabulous *beep* they air now. Back in the day kid shows were kid shows. I dont remember ever turning on Nick and seeing a bunch of cheap slutty looking girls or a bunch of california pretty boy. We had it made. Their had to be at least one show on Nick that we could watch over and over and never get sick of it. Now they have the same shows on 7 times a day. I mean the only time they put on old Nick shows is like at 6 AM, once a week if we're lucky.I know that these shows were canceled, but would it kill the producers of Nickelodeon to try something different and put some shows on that are actually worth watching?? If these shows were still played in reruns i would definitely watch them. And i know alot of others would too. I don't know anout any of you readers, but i miss the simple days of waking up and watching the Rugrats before they grew up. These were our shows. We grew up with them, we loved them, at times we reallied on them. We are the kids of the 90's, and no new nick shows could EVER replace the fond memories we have of being a kid and being able to sit down and watch some awesome TV. Do a million fans a favor and give us back our memories.

yup =-]

I was born in 1987 so I too had the pleasure of being raised during the Golden Age of Nick. I'm sure my neurotic tendencies are childhood impressions of non-stop Pete and Pete and Ren and Stimpy. Its funny how we talk about 90's Nick like the Roman Empire before it fell and stuff hahah. I wonder why we are all so nostalgic, most of my friends my age are also very nostalgic even to the point of depression. Its crazy. Pete and Pete and Salute your shorts.I love the capture the flag episode with the water balloons.

You realize that Anime was used much more on Nickelodeon in the '80s and '90s than is is today... that is to say, there actually isn't any anime on Nickelodeon anymore. At least not in the United States, and not since I checked about half a year ago, when someone on another forum tried to say the same thing you said.

Even a few posts down, someone mentioned Maya the Bee & The Noozles. Both of those were anime series. In case you didn't notice, Nickelodeon was pretty much the place to get a somewhat regular anime fix until Cartoon Network came along.

I fully agree that Nick shows are pretty weak nowadays, but it sure as $%@#ing hell isn't because of anime.

I'm only 19, but I remember all the old shows...like Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains it All, Ren and Stimpy, Ahh! Real Monsters, The ORIGINAL ALL THAT!

My alltime favorite...Wild N Crazy Kids! That show was the bomb! I used to want to be on the show so badly!

All of our shows were removed and replaced by HOURS of Dora the Explorer, Endless Spongebob Rerun, iCarly, True Jackson VP, and all the other crappy shows (no offense to Spongebob fans)...

BRING BACK THE GOLDEN NICK SHOWS! I would lvoe for Nick to create a channel with all the old shows on it...

I'm actually a bit amazed how young so many of the posters here are. A lot of the shows mentioned seemed more geared towards kids who were born ca. 1980 than 1990.

For the good and the bad, the world changes. However, pop culture tends to recirculate itself about every 20-30 years. Right now, it's the 80's that are going through a resurgence. Give it a few more years and people will be looking back to the early 1990's with great nostalgia. All of these shows (or new versions) will be back once your generation starts knocking out your own children.

That's just how these things go.
