I have been looking all over for this post, but I can't find it anywhere--I responded to it, and I tried looking at all my previous posts, but it's not there!!! So, whoever DID start this post before, don't get upset at me.
Now, you know you're a 90s kid if . . .
You would play outside in the backyard until it was too dark to see anymore
You would tie towels on your neck and play superheroes
You would beg your parents to enter you in those Nickelodeon sweepstakes (Super Toy Run, Nick Takes Over Your School . . .) 'Course, I couldn't, b/c my aunt worked at Nickelodeon
You would have your birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese, when it was actually cool enough to still go! Now it is lame!!! (Well, last time I went there, it was 2000)
You would play Super Nintendo, or Playstation, or if you're lucky enough, NES, for hours, and try and get to another world in Mario Bros.
You would spend your afternoons after school watching Power Rangers, or Disney Afternoon
You'd make your own "Stick Stickley." (I tried that!!!) and you would always sing along to "Write to Me, Stick Stickley, P.O. Box . . .)
You'd watch "Nick in the Afternoon" in the summer
You'd buy every single "Super Soaker" squirt gun that came out. (Are they discontinued now???)
Saturday nights would be devoted to SNICK--with Are You Afraid of the Dark, Clarissa, All That and Roundhouse
You would make your own "Double Dare" obstacle course
You would dance to cassette tapes of "Doug and Gary." (I don't know if they were all across the country, (although they did make videotapes) but here in Rochester, NY they were a huge hit to us!) Now it's "Gary the Happy Pirate."
You would buy those "gel" sneakers
Feel Free to Add More. I can't think of anymore!!!!!!
I'm sure the generations before us sort of said the same things about us when we were kids--playing video games for hours, watching all those action shows on TV such as Power Rangers and some of the music we listened to. But in retrospect, the video games we had back then were a lot more fun. It wasn't just shooting and killing, it was either fighting or going on a quest to save the princess. I actually didn't get my first Nintendo system until I was 12 and that was almost 10 years ago now! O_o. I was always so jealous of my friends who had Nintendos/Sega when they were 6 and 7.
I was born in the 1978 so i guess in someways I am more of any 80s kid but I remember many of the things on the list that everyone posted. except for the cable shows cause I did not have cable growing up.

*Disney still showed Mickey Mouse cartoons
*You'd watch the Cartoon Cartoon block on Cartoon Network (Cow & Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Power Puff Girls)

Kids now adays act like u owe them something. They would never yell car they stare at you walk their same slow pace and you sit there wanting to run them over. Britney Spears when she first started(had a major crush on her as did most guys at that time). Playing tag outside until it got too dark to see and people's mothers would be calling out to them.
Riding bikes everywhere..not knowing what a computer was. Cellphones were obsolete and only wealthy people could afford them(at least in my case). 2000 was good for technology advances but looking back from now to then I honestly enjoyed the 90's more then I do now. I like the technology a lot but if I had to schoose, I'd definitely give all this up to re-live the 90's when the only problems I had to worry about was what time Power Rangers came on and if they would be blowing stuff up on Wild and Crazy kids and what games would be on nick Arcade.
