So literally EVERY family on the block went away for xmas?
I find it strange that apparently the ENTIRE block was away for Christmas ( with the exception of Old Man Marly).
That's an unrealistic coincidence lol

Well... it was Christmas, so that fits the coincidence vs. say a summer vacation. Add to that, they were all pretty well off, so apparently, their multi-million dollar homes weren't good enough to spend Christmas at, and instead took a destination vacation.
Yep I am sure that they all had their own holiday plans
shareYes, odds are at least one of them besides Marly would be home for the Holidays; but Harry and Marv certainly covered their bases.

At first, it does kind of sound like the odds of that happening would be slim, but if you think about the whole United States during Christmas week, there has to be at least one block out of all the blocks in all the states that has every person go away for Christmas.
shareStupid post at Christmas.

The moral of the first movie is that if you are a Richter you should stay home for Christmas instead of visiting some poopy European country like France.
The moral of the 2nd movie is that if the Richters absolutely must go somewhere for Christmas go somewhere with Christmas Tree's and Snow and not Florida
That is odd. I can see that happening after Christmas Day, but not right before. We used to leave right after Christmas through New Years to go skiing every year with other families. But even those who visited family elsewhere wouldn't account for an entire neighborhood being empty. Someone would have gone there to visit. But then it's just a movie.

I have always found that weird too. Or maybe it's just me who wouldn't want to be away from home for Christmas.
