Clark was a bit greedy and selfish involving the stupid bonus check thingy

Not only was Clark being selfish and greedy but he was rude and disrespectful towards his whole family iespecially being rude to Eddie.

Clark was lucky to have a place to stay while on the road in the first Vacation movie

Well, that was the theme of the movie as Clark summed up at the end in his speech. But in Clark's defense, company bonuses were considered part of the salary at his company which is actually fairly common. Since his company had the best year they had in a long time, it was expected that a bonus would be forthcoming. Even his boss admitted that Clark and the rest of the employees got hosed with the Jelly of the Month Club bonus.

As far as Clark being lucky to stay at Eddies, he visited Eddie because Eddie's wife was Ellen's cousin, not because he had no place to stay. Not to mention, Eddie hit Clark up for some money..

You must not work somewhere that gives Bonuses....While Clark did overreact and lose his cool, he was use to receiving a Christmas bonus as it was part of his compensation/benefits/salary. 12% of my compensation is yearly bonus, if I didn't receive it I would be pissed and also have to plan how to pay certain things.

Clark also probably knew how well the company was doing and realized his boss was being cheap. I'd be livid too, but yes he did overreact.
