can't believe this movie is only rated PG

The ironic thing is that a movie like this, aimed at preteens/early teens, will never be made again because of political correctness and unwillingness of Hollywood to take risk.

Even some 90's Disney films, like Max Keeble's Big Move, the style and feel of those type of movies, is also gone.

I know I was shocked watching this as an adult. I mean I still love the movie but I could not believe all the swearing and innuendos involved especially with the kids present. No way in hell this would be rated PG now it would probably be rated R based on the language alone today. Its like Drop Dead Fred in that it was marketed to kids but ended up being a film more for adults instead.

I was part of a few threads and one covered the rating.
One part I talked about was how a few years ago, I noticed that Little Monsters got a new DVD cover.
I think it was still the same Full Screen DVD, only the cover had changed.
Anywho, I was in Sam's and they had a 4 pack movie collection. It had LM and I want to say Mac & Me.
On the back of that collection the film had a PG-13 rating.
I made a tread specifically about this. There are no posts older than 2012 anymore.
I don't understand why they would cut so many pages of the film's Board.
Another thread was about the weird shirt the girl wears in the film.
It has a woman and a toaster on it.

THe copy I just picked up today says PG-13. Can they change the rating later?

I agree. I was recently writing something for my blog about our favorite family movies. I wanted to write about ones from my childhood that my kids have enjoyed as much as I did. This is one of them.

Well, when I started looking deeper into the movie and writing parental guidance kind of stuff I was kind of surprised. I knew right away many of my blog readers would find this movie a little inappropriate for their family.

I'm rewatching this now to see what I can catch. I haven't seen this in years by my kids tend to watch it often as I was up in one of their rooms. They are teens now so I have no concern with them watching it but I'm surprised I didn't notice certain things when they watched it with me when they were younger. They have always loved this movie. I think maybe with younger kids somethings go over their head.

I still think it is a wonderful movie. Howie is so funny as usually. It's a family fun type of movie. I do agree the parents are little hot headed and tend to fight a lot but that happens in families. I find the whole concept of the movie creative and fun.

It's funny how nowadays kids learn stuff a lot earlier, but we are so afraid to let them watch a movie with any of that stuff mentioned. I used to watch all these movies as a kid, and the adult humor would go over my head. No harm, no foul! As I type this, I think children back in the day, maybe even understood some it, but they never acted on it, like children these days.
