You don't find scorpions in your backyard!

How the heck would a scorpion get into somebody's backyard anyway? I don't think it's possible, since it's not a common, everyday insect like an ant or a bee.

Ah, suspension of disbelief! lol

I live in Alabama and they are very common here too. They usually tend to pop out when you least expect them too. You'll just be doing some yard work and "BAM!" it's a scorpion. Hurt like hell too if you get stung by one.

6 years living in AZ. Same house. Not a rough estimate... but I estimate I've seen about 50 scorpions in my house. Killed about 30 myself.

That's not true. My parents found one right outside their window when they were staying in Arizona. They shot a crazy video of the thing too. Though I'm not sure where they are in this movie, in the second one they're in Vegas.

Gonna have to agree with everyone else and say I am from Texas, and they are common pests. One of the reasons I like living in Nebraska now. I miss Texas weather but not the scorpions and ridiculously large spiders everywhere.

Depends where you live, especially in summer. Maybe they're not so common where you are, original poster, but there are places in the US where scorpions are plentiful.

How would a scorpion get into a backyard because it's not everyday like an ant or bee? What? It's perfectly reasonable to think a scorpion could get into someone's backyard. If the backyard is within the range of scorpions at least. Scorpions are small animals that could get just about anywhere. How would not being a common everyday animal like an ant or bee make it impossible? You didn't make any sense. lol

The movie never states where it takes place, although near Silicon Valley makes sense for Wayne.

Here in Georgia, I get scorpions in my house all the time. It's even more likely if they don't mow their lawn often.
