their was other options.

reply

Why? I thought it was funny.

reply

it was funny but i just don't like watching guys play women. it could have been at least 4 different actresses from the original.

reply

I hate to admit I have watched these movies dozens of times and didn't realize that.

reply

i wish i didn't

jennifer would have been better

they could have used ..

yeah, but it was a smaller part so i thought maybe there was a day or two claudia could have come back to film.

shue maybe could have played the part since michael played 2 parts in the film.

i wouldn't have minded if wendy or maia gave it a shot. wendy could have had a chance to play a different type of character and maia was a little older by then, i'm not sure if it would have worked or not.

Yes, so stupid. One of several reasons I don't like this movie.

reply

one of the reasons for me too. i think the best part was alternate 1985.

reply

I didn’t like that as well

reply

I saw these movies dozens of times as a kid, and I was about 20 before I realised it was Michael J. Fox.

reply

Did not realize that when I was little. Wanted to look like her. Then again he's really tiny and not the typical hulking guy--so it was convincing.

reply

I didn't like seeing Donny go

They could've obviously had Lea Thompson or Elisabeth Shue play the daughter, but I'm assuming that the filmmakers simply thought that it would be "funnier" to have Michael J. Fox dress up in drag. They already had him play his identical son, so they might as well have pushed the credibility factor further. I'm guessing that another reason was to see how much they could push the visual effects (i.e. having three characters played by MJF in the same scene a la Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor) that they had at their disposal to the absolute limit.
