does Tom Hanks know this is his best movie

I rewatch the Money Pit it's not that good almost no laughs almost every joke falling flat but not this movie this movie is so good

Tom Hanks seems like a fairly intelligent person, with good taste. So he would probably rank The Burbs towards the bottom of his body of work, not the top.

This and Bachelor Party are his top 2 films!

I first saw Tom Hanks in Big, The Burbs, and A League of their Own. I'd like to think he knows he has fans from his comedic work.

Agreed. It's a great film. And Hanks is tremendous in it.

It has Joe Dante directing, who's a master at this style of film and was at his peak coming off the back of Innerspace and Gremlins.

Then you have a great cast of Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman, Bruce Dern, Rick Ducommun, Wendy Schaal, Henry Gibson, as well as memorable cameos from Dante regulars Dick Miller and Robert Picardo. With the film set entirely in the neighbourhood, it feels like a play. And that's where the strength of these actors become apparent.

Then you have a great score by the legendary Jerry Goldsmith, another master at creating scores for these types of films. Great cinematography (whole film looks absolutely stunning) and a great script full of so many memorable lines and scenes.

80s films are the gold standard. There's nothing like them.

reply

No. Because his best movie was Bachelor Party.

reply
