What season did you give up at?
I think 18 was when I quit.
shareWhen they got rid of Apu.
shareThe last episode I watched from my recordings was the 24 Minutes one. But I had back then already 3 or 4 seasons on backlog and just watched the ones which looked interesting. Checking the episodes, I stop remembering definitely scenes from Season 11, so I guess Season 10 was my last really regular season.
shareAround the time Lisa became a smug, self-righteous, leftist know-it-all.
shareI stopped watching around the time Liza became a Budist, Millhouse's parents divorced, and Flanders' wife was killed off. Can't even remember which seasons those happened in but I believe Flanders' wife getting killed was the ultimate turn off.
shareStopped with whatever season that was right before the movie. So......nearly 20 years ago at this point.

shareThere was once a time when you could describe this as "a good show that has turned bad". Now because of the length of time it has allowed to be a shadow of its former self, it has to be referred to as "a bad show that used to be good".
I'd be surprised if there's anyone out there who watched and enjoyed the peak period of this show and has still stuck with it all this time. People came up with the joke title of Zombie Simpsons for this back 10-15 years ago, so it's been Zombie Simpsons longer than it's been The Simpsons.
Oh, there are definitely a few people who, believe it or not, argue the show has always been consistently funny. A guy who used to do a podcast I listened to (you probably wouldn't know, it's too obscure) had this opinion. Of course, he also defended Pluto Nash as a great comedy, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
shareYes, no example like liking Pluto Nash needed. I already knew he must be an idiot to have the first opinion.
