Why do so many criminals believe they can outrun the police on foot or in a motor vehicle?

I just don't understand why they'd be thinking they could outrun the police.

I've never understood that either, especially when there's a camera watching their every move.

if the criminal has a good lawyer the Evading charge is sometimes dismissed so its worth a shot

Criminals have done it a few times on On Patrol Live.

I watch that too, and it's surprising how many have gotten away. They do tend to catch them later. even while the show is still on, but not always.

BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY CAN...THEY JUST NEVER AIR THOSE CHASES ON COPS.

Very true. Most of these types of shows, same as the car chase ones etc only show the ones that get caught.

And they also try to push the false agenda that cops always get their man, usually echoed by the presenter/narrator.

And let's not forget the added notion that most criminals are dumb, stupid etc. And all cops are heroic, honest etc. Hmmm...

There were a few episodes where the bad guys do manage to get away.
