Did this movie kill Judge Reinhold's career?
Or was he never that good to begin with?
shareHe's awesome in this movie!!! He plays an innocent kid perfectly then turns around playing a wild carefree kid. He's great.
shareI've seen almost all of his 80's movies, and while he does work better in supporting roles, I think his performance here is easily his most impressive of the decade. In fact, for my money he gives Tom Hanks in "Big" a run for his money. This movie perhaps didn't do anything for his career, but it should have gotten him some more notice.
You want something corny? You got it!
It probably did. I mean Judge Reinhold had to play second fiddle to Fred Savage, the chubby little monchichi.
shareI think the two films that killed his career were Over Her Dead Body and Zandalee.
shareAmy Heckerling gave Judge his first break in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. She said he was a friend of hers, and it was a shock to her when he got as big as he did since he was like the last person she would ever have thought to achieve it. All this considered IMO he did pretty well.
shareHe was always good playing a likeable character. He just seemed to fade away by the 90s. I remember him in the Seinfeld episode about Schindler’s List but not much more.
