What is your favourite moment in the movie?

Well, for me there's many.I love the scene where she goes down in that elavator and falls upon the leaves.I also like the way the leaves get sucked into that desk.I also love it when those skulls hatch from those eggs.Truly eerie and perceptive.

I loved the scene where Alice is stuck in the pantry and the scene of the judgment, at the end.

Just a little thing - but I thought that the fact that the white rabbit has the 'scientific name' sticker on the doorbell of his house and the fact that his 'house' is a hutch was a brilliant touch :)

When Alice is tossing pebbles into the river in the opening, whilst sitting besides her [mother? nanny?]
then the next shot there is the doll of Alice sitting beside her, a pile of stones in the dolls lap, and shots of the stones being tossed into a teacup.

Eerie and symbolic.

And of course the dormouse setting up camp on Alice's head.
The gray washed out floorboards and stylized, desaturated feel of 'Wonderland'.

Jan Svankmajer creates amazing worlds.

I have to agree with the animated meat, and perhaps the Frog Footman's tongue slapping over the flies. There was something very tactile about both bits.

I also appreciated the baby turning into a live piglet in the midst of all the commotion and the pincushion hedgehogs turning into the real thing.

I've seen other shorts from Svankmajer where sawdust is just as prevalent. There's something very eerie about its presence, like a reminder that everything will eventually disintegrate.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the ending - where Alice says something along the lines of "Maybe I'LL cut HIS head off," and snaps the scissors ominously. To tell the truth this movie wasn't my favorite; but that moment was brilliant - how the entire movie led to her finally taking a stand against - what? Society? Convention? I'm not sure. But I liked the mentality of it!

i don't remember much about the movie but i do remember a frog (or toad?) with a giant tongue. maybe it was catching flies, not sure, but i liked the frog.

i loved the final line (about cutting of his head), because it's creepy,

but then it's even better when she says "said alice to herself" because through the whole film she has been saying "said the white rabbit (or whoever)" about other people's actions, but now SHE is the one who is 'saying' things and it sort of shows that she's mad and is talking to herself (as she probably has been the whole time)

i feel like all of the shots of her mouth in the film are there to lead up to the last time when she talks about herself.

also, the swimming mouse on her head/in the mousetrap.

and the siege at the white rabbit's house.

and i'll make one small criticism while i'm here;
I wish the hatter puppet had a bit more visual flair.

Most definitely the White Rabbit. I love the concept of his stomach getting unsewn, the sawdust falling out, and him having the tools to fix himself up, including a spoon for the refill.

We've met before, haven't we?

I love the sailor rat who tries to make soup on top of her head.

I only just saw this film and I can't really pick one. I found the scene with the Caterpillar to be the most imaginative (and that says bucket-loads when talking about this film) and for some reason, I love the doll house sequence. The White Rabbit throws rocks at Alice. I can't believe how needlessly cruel they were being.

My least favourite part was how Alice did those stupid "said the White Rabbit" "screamed the Queen" "said the Caterpillar" intervals with the close ups.
