Theo's Bonuses

Getting handed $100 twice for cracking two codes was ridiculously hilarious. I bet they would have killed him at the end depending on how much his cut was going to be.

Makes you wonder if he might have got away with all the bonds at the end.

reply

Would have if Gargoyle hadn’t stepped in.

It's Argyle and he didn't tell the cops about him.

reply

It's Argyle

Yes, I know that.

reply

It wasn't a bonus. The $100 was a side bet he made with Karl about whether Takagi would give up the access code.

reply

Didn't even think about that. If that's the case, what was the second bet?

The most memorable thing about the Theo character is that it was so obviously written to be a nerdy white guy. I mean, how many genius computer hackers in the 80s were black? The actor playing him seems to know this, as he spends the movie doing Eddie Murphy's impression of what a geeky white guy sounds like to black people.

That's what I love about movies produced by Joel Silver, he always forced diversity in his films at the expense of being realistic. That midget John Leguizamo playing an elite commando in Executive Decision is another example of this hahaha
