My three favorite scenes from this overall hilarious film are:

The Soul Glo ad, especially the part where the singer sings to us the hair is "feelin' Oh-so silky smooth!"

When Arsenio says "MaMa called him Clay, I'ma call him Clay! The look on his face with those coke bottle glasses as he says this is epic, lol!

The intro of Darrell when the Soul Glo song plays and he looks in his side mirror and grooms his 80's mustache to "Soul Glo" and gives the douchebag grin afterwards.

I'm so glad I dvr'd this the other day from the family channel, lol. I don't think you could ever get sick of watching this movie.

"...I'm a contradiction"

"She's your Queen-to-be."

"SEXUAL CHOCOLATE! SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!"

"Gilligan! Get off the island! Lord!"

"Yeah, I met Dr. Martin Luther King in 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee. I walkin' down the street minding my own business, just walking on. Feelin' good. I walk around the corner, a man walk up, hit me in my chest, right. I fall on the ground, right. And I look up and it's Dr. Martin Luther King. I said 'Dr. King?' and he said 'Ooops, I thought you were some body else.' "

"And what am I supposed to do while you're on a yellow brick quest for a brain?"

When Akeem and Lisa are walking by the river and he hands that pile of cash to the 2 homeless guys - and it turns out to be the Duke brothers from Trading Places! Another favorite Eddie Murphy movie. ;-)

'Mortimer, we're back!"

"Your struggle with darkness has left you blind.
I'll light the fire in your eyes."

reply

That is the funniest line of all time. Only Eddie Murphy would come up with that. Martin Luther King Jr walks down the street and punches someone in the face LMAO! That would never happen! LMAO!!!!

Everything that is said about McDowells...

The Soul Glo song playing as Darryl was rolling up. And the way he smiles at himself in the side mirror.

Non-Violent Martin Luther King punching someone in the chest.

Milkshake scene 'Take care of this for me will you?'

The selling of Royal Engagement T-Shirts

The Landlord Guy. He was so rude. 'Yeah, now what the *beep* do you want?!' 'We got boo boo's coming in here.' 'Hey Stu....' 'Excuse me if I was brusque.' 'We got a bit of an insect problem, but you boys from Africa are used to that.' ROFL

'I have a date with Lisa, isn't that wonderful!?' *Silence*

'Jackson Heights OWN!'

Rev. Brown's sermon about God creating women, and how Hugh Hefner can take the picture, but he can't make it. LOL

She's your queen to be and how it sounds like some 80s black haircare jingle

I'm surprised no one has said my favorite scene yet!

Right after Murphy/Arsenio arrive at McDowell's and they're getting the full tour, they go behind the counter and Louie Anderson spills that milkshake all over the counter after barely getting bumped by the door. The look on his face is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

The confrontation scene

Cleo "I don't care who you are, this is America jack and if you say one more thing about Lisa i will put my foot in your royal ass" hahaha I love cleo and the queen is a lovely lady.
She's so polite, even to servants. I love the scene where she meets cleo and is like "oh so nice to meet you" nervously smiling. Haha she's lovely.

I used to have 2 scenes but now the guy I'm crushing on managed to insert a 3rd one in my mind haha! So my top 3:

1. "Good morning my neighbors" - *beep* you!" - "Yes! Yeeeeeees! I *beep* you too!"

2. When they pass the money baskets around and Morris drops in the chicken leg he was eating

3. Cleo totally changing his tune when he finds out that Akeem is a Prince "I always knew there was something special about that boy" his face is priceless hahahaha

I admire the way we can lie, putting reason on our side
