3 best movies of the 80s

1. Back to the Future
2. Princess Bride
3. Condorman

reply

1. Paris, Texas
2. Jean de Florette/ Manon des Sources (basically one long film)
3. The Purple Rose of Cairo

I am male and did very much enjoy The Princess Bride though! Just not in my top 3 of the 80s :)

Intimate knowledge of these three movies (all made during the 80s) are mandatory for a basic understanding of American culture:

(In no particular order)

The Princess Bride
The Goonies
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Before I clicked on your post, I thought to myself, Back To The Future better be on this person's list, ... and there it is, #1, well done!

I like Princess Bride alright, but probably doesn't make my Top 10 of the 80's, although close.

And, I don't think I ever saw Condorman.

(The rest of my Top 3 are: Beverly Hills Cop, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but that's just off the top of my head.)

Off the top of my head just now I managed to come up with...

...1. Aliens - Possibly the greatest ever!
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark - No words
3. Princess Bride - Watching it now, classic :-)
4. Die Hard - The action bible
5. Empire Strikes Back - THE best of all time
6. The Terminator - Cameron's opener
7. The Breakfast Club - No mentions?
8. Videodrome - The thinking mans horror
9. Escape From New York - Birth of an icon
10. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade - One of the only good "third parts" of a trilogy
