"If you told me to f*ck off I'd have more respect for you".

"OK then f*ck" off", says Douglas' character, and then a few seconds Alex Forrest goes angrily - "And you get out!" and then seconds later cuts her wrists and nearly kills herself.

So much for "more respect", heh?

She was acting as if she never said it and that she wasn't to blame, when she was. I believe it to be a typical behavior with Borderlines.

2 Patman 111196 - possibly, maybe but then...

Says at one point "if you told me this she'll have so-called "more respect" for him" and he does that and instead she madly shouts "You get out!" (did her hearing him in that instance "F*ck off" literally upset her? Probably yes!) and then less than a minute later slashes her wrists almost to the point of killing herself, so much for "more respect", ironically of course.

reply

because he was saying what she wanted to hear. you don't respect someone like that.

reply

So in a way, he was being irritatingly dishonest with her, yes?

reply

He was calling her bluff, plain and simple. He knew she didn’t mean such a ridiculous statement.

reply

Yeah but then her cutting her wrists afterwards like that...
