I only met one of them once and she suffered from Alzheimer's. My other 3 grandparents died before I was born.

i can see why you think this.

if you watch show in sequence (like i do recently), the show just repeat same joke about al being cheap and peg lazy and kelly as whore and bud being midget. time and again they repeat this - entire episodes repeating same thing. maybe when show first air you dont notice, but watching episodes back to back you notice.

the quality of actor on the show was very good. ed o'neill, christina applegates and david garison were all very good. but writing on the show was poor. the show use mostly female writer and they cannot write comedy. they just repeat same tired joke after same joke in every fucking episodes hahahahahah.

was not surprised to check imdb credits and find the only funny episodes i found funny were when they brought in man writers. maybe you would like characters more if they had proper comedy writer on this show.

As bad as this show is, "Unhappily Ever After", which was basically an identikit rip-off with the egregious and inexplicable inclusion of a puppet character, makes it seem like the epitome of Wildian wit.

i respect this. i like character in MWC but writing on show is crap.

i have never seen roseanne. if it is same thing as MWC where they repeat same jokes every episode then i will avoid.

Were the writers 'mostly female'? The humour strikes me as very male chauvinist pig humour. But if you're right, perhaps it's what some female comedy writers *think* men find funny.

hi harvey. yes i think your correct. it seem they write from some kind of check list of thing they think might be funny. comedy is natural not check list. crap writing.

writing on this show was mean but you can balance mean with funny and can work. sometimes this show funny but it does not work when you just repeat same thing over and over again.

very disappoint watching this again not as good as i remember

I don't know the sex/gender of the people who wrote this show (maybe I should look it up), but, tbf, BO, has a point. Whoever and whatever they are, *they* can't write comedy. But hey, if people enjoy the crass sexism/chauvinism of this type of 'comedy', that's their prerogative, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

It's my *opinion* that this show which is full of jokes regarding women's sexual availability and physical assets is somewhat sexist and chauvinist and that, thus, the people behind it are not great comedy writers.
