I recently saw '24 Hour Party People' starring Steve Coogan. It was brilliant!
Highly recommend it.

Ya SLC Punk is what I was gonna say too, but it is like someone said, more about just growing up than being a punk. There are only a handful of movies, it seems, that genuinely attempt to capture the feel of the real punk movement.
There's so much focus on the 60s and tons of footage of Woodstock to reminisce for people who grew up during that era, yet for the 70s it seems like if you weren't there, there isn't a lot you can watch in movies or documentaries to show how it was. Maybe in another 10 years or so, more stuff will be compiled in order to depict the 70s. Maybe not. Maybe it was because punk was more "underground," I dunno.

I can't understand your crazy moon language.

SLC Punk is an excellent film. It's more about growing up than it is about punk, though.
The Filth and the Fury is a FANTASTIC documentary about the Sex Pistols.
Suburbia (1985, I think, not the 90s Linklater movie, although that's very good as well) is also worth seeing because of its honesty, though pretty badly made.
I agree I think The Filth and the Fury was excellent!

The one with Diane Lane is called Ladies and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains, and it's a brilliant film. It actually has Paul Cook, and Steve Jones in it, along with a member of the Clash, Mick Jones I think.
To me Punk Cinema actually predates Punk music, films by Kenneth Anger, Jack Smith, Andy Warhol, and early John Waters have a very punk aesthetic to them. I think what you're looking for is films about Punk.
I'm actually not a big fan of Sid and Nancy but...
I highly, highly recommend Repo Man and Return of the Living Dead if you want camp, punk, and violence. Fun stuff.
