I grew up with Police Academy 2 and 3 back in the day where they were VHS rentals and on HBO.

one old joke that I still don't get in Police Academy 3 is I the beginning when theyre at the new recruits academy where everyone is outside on the field.

When Mauser and Mahoney or whoever argue about stuff, Jones then does a weird growl/grumbling noise to mock Mauser which ticks off Hurst I think his name is?

what's up with that weird joke?

The joke is Jones is making it sound like Mauser is suffering from flatulence (burping), suffering from this ailment would be embarrassing for Mauser suggesting he can't control his bodily functions.
