Was Vasquez nothing more than a "brownface" portrayal?

Take into consideration that Jenette Goldstein, Private Vasquez's portrayer is actually white and Jewish. She looks more like her natural self in Terminator 2 as John Connor's foster mother.

No, she was a strong, badass female character.

A: The story goes that a long time ago, a young actress got a call from her agent that there was an audition for the character “Vasquez” in a movie called “Aliens”, and that she out to go there and try it out.

So she did, dressed up according to 1980s Hispanic sub-culture fashion, thinking that it was a film about Hispanic immigrants.

She got the part, but the script changed slightly, with an additional line for Bill Paxton, in honor of her audition.

That's right lets cancel her, and remove her from all prints of the film with a person of the correct race. I say that the fim studio should go so far as to recall all DVD and even VHS copies of this film. We all have a social responsibility to act on this. Either turn in your copy of Aliens or burn it!
