Although it was made in 1986, the main issues of the film is still happens: fear of an engagement and commitment and the question: Is he or she the one for me? But now, the people have to be more careful because of VIH and other diseases, it´s really dangerous to be promiscuous and it´s a duty to watch out and choose with prudence, but also with love. Because love is a positive energy in all of the times.
This is 1 of my all time favorite movies I loved it as a teen in the 80s a twenty something in the 90s and now as an old lady I still love it! The basic story holds up & as a Brat Pavk fanatic I just adore this movie!!!
On any given day, it's a coin toss between "About Last Night"..... "A Few Good Men"..... and "Avalon" as to what my favorite all time movie is.....
Yeah..... I know there's three and only two sides to a coin..... so the third one is there in case the coin happens to land on it's edge.....
Here's a few more.....
"Ghandi" "The Sting" "Cool Hand Luke" "From Here To Eternity" "Driving Miss Daisy" "In Harm's Way" "Gone With The Wind" "Patton" "12 Angry Men"
Those are the ones that round out my top ten all time..... not necessarily in that order..... I know..... there's actually twelve total.....
So give each one a number and roll some dice......
And when you do..... You may even have to contend with "Bridge On The River Kwai" and "Hoosiers"..... or "Braveheart"..... or "The Caine Mutiny"..... or "Planes, Trains and Automobiles".....
Maybe even "The American President"..... "Baby Boom"..... "In The Heat Of The Night"..... "Fried Green Tomatoes".....
there are bunches of others..... I guess you'll have to ditch the coin and dice and get out a dart board.....
But man..... I do love "About Last Night"..... it's almost a personal biopic..... not that I look like Rob Lowe mind you..... actually more like Jim Belushi.....
and Demi Moore.... my God if there was ever a young woman more beautiful than she was in that movie.....
"Don't move!" "What?" "You look so good in that light." "What Light?" "The light coming through the window." "Get out of here." "God, you are so beautiful."
whenever I see that scene..... nevermind.....
And then the words that..... at least for me..... sum up the entire message..... and should also for all young men..... especially for those who don't realize it..... and unfortunately won't realize it until it's too late.....
"You don't know what love is. You've gotten everything you have always wanted and now you're feeling sorry for yourself because there's something you want and you can't have it. But you had it! I gave you love. But you asked me to leave and I left."
It's fitting that is the first dialogue which appears in the quotes section..... these words should be taught to every little boy along with the mentoring and guidance necessary to insure he grows up to become the type of man who never acts in a manner which subjects him to have to hear them.....
