Which Rocky Balboa Fight Is Actually The Best?

Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa fought many boxing matches throughout the years. Here's the most exciting, realistic, and emotional one.

Thanks for that, interesting read.

Regarding the best fight I’d have to go with Rocky IV for sheer drama, action, excitement and emotion. It’s such an exciting fight to watch even if you’ve seen it all before a dozen times. Plus the awesome training montage before the final fight pumps up the viewer to almost breaking point.

I love all the Rocky films and all the fights but yep, I’d have to go with Rocky IV.

Rocky III (easily)
Firstly, It pretty much paved the way for rapid editing (that embodied the mid-late eighties action film-making) whilst still being early enough (1982...but likely filmed in 81)
to retain a lot of leftover seventies 'grit' from the previous two movies. Secondly, it's not the usual 'last round finish' (as with the others) that adds a extra sense of realism...and finally, Clubber Lang is the best opponent (hands down)

Rocky IV is like a cartoon (in comparison)

Rocky II

Rocky's rematch with Apollo.

I think Rocky’s first fight with Apollo is the most iconic but the rematch with Apollo definitely has the most emotional impact.

I agree. The first tried to keep it real as much as possible. And, in every following sequel, they tried to up the ante and Rocky had to be the winner.

Exactly, the sequels from II - IV got more and more ridiculous. V and VI tried to bring things back down to Earth but weren't nearly as good as the original. The original is also the only one where Stallone truly nailed the character of Rocky. In II he barely got away with it but he was acting pretty over the top. In III and IV he didn't play Rocky, he underacted so much that he essentially just played Sylvester Stallone, then in V he overdid it so excessively that he almost came off as a parody.

The one in Rocky 33 jk. The one with Apollo at the end of Rocky 3. We only got to see a part but we know they had more unfilmed.
