Tell us your first Howling II experience

I was six years old when this movie came out. I remember seeing the ad on TV and I pestered my parents to take me to see it all week. Finally the friday it was released they took me and I LOVED it! It was funny becuase I am totally into the movie the music everything, and my parents are just groaning.

I have seen this movie at least 50 times since then, most recently 6/3/07 on Cinemax while I was going to sleep. It is awful, bad, and just stupid, but I have to say I just love it!

I was about 8 or 9 years old and my older sister brought home the rental tapes of "The Howling," "Howling II" and "Howling III." I had seen the VHS boxes at the video store and had always wanted to see the movies, so I was very excited. We watched all three movies in a row on a Saturday afternoon. We absolutely LOVED the first movie, so we were expecting "Howling II" to be just as great. Nope! We watched it and commented at how much gratuitous nudity there was, and how the news broadcast of Karen White's werewolf transformation looked NOTHING like in the first movie. We hated it. Then we watched "Howling III: The Marsupials" and surprisingly loved that one! The movie was very interesting and we loved following Jerboa's story. I didn't watch "Howling II" again until I was 18 years old and actually liked it more now. I guess I learned to appreciate its cheesiness and understood it was filmed on a lower budget than the first movie. I now own it on DVD and still watch it every now and then. I'm glad MGM released the full uncut version on DVD too!

I watched it for the first time today. I just bought all of the Howling sequels recently because I only owned the first one and I plan on watching them all in the coming days. I thought it was pretty good and I hope all the rest of the sequels are just as enjoyable as this.
