I like the idea of a different killer
Am I the only one who likes the idea of a different killer for this movie?
I like that they decided to do something different for a change.

The idea is treated like a sin by fans, but the truth is that JASON himself was a replacement too (he wasn't the killer in the 1st movie). This franchise could've been like SCREAM: In each movie, different people use the same disguise. The problem with this movie is that the explanation at the end is stupid. And TOMMY becoming the new killer makes no sense.
shareIt's not like Halloween III where Myers is no where connected or appearing as a cameo in third one - Part V at least continues where Part IV left off & Jason does make an appearance...
I Love Debi Sue Voorhees

What appearance did Jason make in this film?
shareDream sequence at the beginning of the film. That was Jason Voorhees, and he looked sick as shit! -- and -- honestly, A New Beginning is one of the better Jason movies without actually being a real Jason movie. The movie is great. And I'm high as hell.
I only come here when I miss the old IMDB boards.
I like the idea as well. Thought it was quite cool really. Re-watching all the F 13 movies and enjoying them a lot.
sharethe idea of a different killer is a cool idea but the way it was executed in this movie is weak imo. it was basically part one all over again. there a valid reasons to dislike this movie. it's a guilty pleasure of mine but that's just me.
sharein the long run i think it was a good idea. there were enough jason movies, and some of them weren't even that great, it returned to the fun of guessing who the killer is like the first 2 movies. this one felt the most like a scream precursor.
shareand if you notice at the end with the barn scene, Roy is bald like Jason from Part 4. Then when he gets killed by impalement, his mask is off and you can see he has hair lol they were really trying to make you believe it was Jason. You probably wouldn't notice that the first time you watch it, though. I noticed it after a few repeated viewings.
sharegood catch, i liked the idea of guessing who the killer was.
shareHe was wearing two masks. The hockey mask and a rubber mask underneath to make him look bald and whatnot.
shareSpoilers
I'm not opposed to a different killer, but Roy was not good enough for anyone to embrace that idea. This movie is just shite.
Spoiler
This feels exactly like a "Friday the 13th" movie...and it's probably one of the funniest horror movies I've ever seen...what makes it hilarious is that they weren't trying to be funny lol
Literally until the face of the killer is "unmasked", it feels like a Friday the 13th movie... getting upset because someone copycats Jason is something a 4th grader would do.
Not really, there's a shit ton of times real killers have copycatted others so that they can easier shift the blame...which was Roy's intention also.
shareI never liked this one that much. And like another poster said the whole premise of a guy's son getting killed over a guy not wanting a candy bar is really stupid. Not to mention the boy's father doesn't even kill the guy who killed his son making his whole killing spree pointless.
shareThat would have defeated the purpose. Vic was a red herring trying to throw you off into thinking he might be the killer. If he is killed, that ruins the entire thing.
shareme to guily fav
