Louis Gosset Jr. was amazing in this!

His acting was so good, he really convinces you that he's an alien from another planet.

The makeup helped.

He certainly developed a unique style of mannerisms and stuff. He did great.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FILM...EXCEPT PERHAPS THE RUSHED AND SLIGHTLY PREDICTABLE ENDING IS AMAZING.

I concur. It brought a whole new meaning to saying something is a drag...I mean Drac.

He was, he went really deep into the character and did an amazing job at being what an alien might be like. Not many actors would cover their appearance so fully and then bring in a performance like this.

The only actor I know of who can still do that and is great at it (that is still alive at the time of this writing) is Doug Jones. They love using him when there's an alien or supernatural character that requires a lot of prosthetics and a costume that fully covers him up. He's incredible at articulating and giving the creature (whatever it is) a personality and making it memorable.

Had to look him up, but of course all it took was one glance to recognize him and his voluminous work. The first name that came to my mind, though it was only one role, was Vincent D'Onofrio in Men in Black.

I'm more familiar with Doug Jones' work with Guillermo del Toro :) He's played some fantastic creatures in del Toro's films!

It's been ages, but I'll never forget how impressive his uvular fricative/French or German glottal "R" sound was, as in "Chak-barrrrrrrrrrr."

Shishmaahrr!!!

What an incredible performance by him and what a wonderful movie! I hold it dear to my heart this movie. There’s nothing comes close to it from memorable sets, creature designs, atmosphere, music! Just a great space adventure with a heart and soul.
