I really like this movie but

consider Sixteen Candles to be the better movie. Anybody else feel that way? Seems to always be a big argument when it comes to these two movies.

Sorry but Sixteen Candles sucked ass.

I'm sorry Buckshot George!

Sixteen candles is my favorite..and if you can imagine Sam and Farmer Ted a little older than they might just be like Claire and Brian..just a thought.

Sixteen Candles is the better teen comedy, whereas The Breakfast Club is the better all around film (performances, writing, direction).

These two movies had the same director and two (three) returning co-stars, but ultimately they couldn't be any more different. Sixteen Candles is meant to be the more enjoyable film (it is), although it just doesn't leave the impact The Breakfast Club does.

I agree with that. I think sixteen candles works better as a comedy. The breakfast club is more dramatic and explores the social structure of high school.

reply

Exactly

Sixteen candles was a romance comedy, while Breakfast Club was a message of a generation. Its completely pointless to compare them.

I still give the edge to the Breakfast Club. Like the other posters mentioned, Sixteen Candles is more of a comedy but BC has more depth

reply

Nope. I'm one of those assholes who hates Sixteen Candles. The Breakfast Club has a sort of weak ending, but Sixteen Candles was pure trash through and through in my eyes.
