Dose anyone under 35 get the Tab Joke.

You know since Tab Soda has disappeared.

reply

Yeah, I get it. But like several of the jokes in the movie (Jerry Lewis, "is that a DEVO?"), I didn't get that line until much later.

You want something corny? You got it!

reply

I used to like Tab.

reply

I'm not much under 35 and I do remember seeing Tab once in awhile, particularly early 90's. I thought it was the most plain and unappealing-looking soda. I saw this movie before I ever saw a Tab but forgot the Tab reference. I saw the movie again years later and by then I "got the Tab" ha...haha...

reply

Huh, this is new to me. I'm 21 and all this time I thought Marty was just trying to get away with not paying upfront by asking for a tab (since he was probably low on cash).

"Brother, life's a bitch...and she's back in heat."

reply

Tab wasn't produced until the 60s, so the man didn't realize what Marty was talking about either.

reply

I remember having Tab briefly in the UK in the 1990s. I used to like it.

reply

The only reason why I did was because as a child I had heard a song that mentioned several old sodas, including Tab. It was called "Pop" and a parody of "The Can-Can". However, this movie introduced me to Pepsi Free. I had only known that drink as Caffeine Free Pepsi.

reply

Tab is still sold here in Virginia.

reply

i do its 50's dialogue 1980's are now considered a period pieces now

reply

Tab hasn't disappeared. It still for sale here and there. I was buying it in 2010 when I discovered it in a supermarket in Hollywood.

reply

I never saw a tab soda but i still figured out it was some kind of drink when Marty said it.
