Favorite Scene
When I was a kid and in love with this movie, my favorite scene had to have been when Hillary's boobs lit up. Made any adolescent boy like myself very happy.

shareThe two dudes that torture Nick in jail.
"Bruno is almost completely blind and operates only by touch. Klaus is a moron and he only believes what he reads in the New York Post."
LMAO
I crack every time at the scene with the bull chasing the "cow" and the music from JAWS is playing )) Awesome
shareI think, a lot of the messages that are now only with the text "This message has been deleted by an administrator" here, have described much more (tooooo much) of this scene and was happened next...!
"What happened mother? Why did we all run?"
"Man... was in the forest."
The best scenes in this movie are the ones with the blind novelty items salesman/spy. The code phrases are unreal....
"Do you know any good white basketball players?"
"There are no good white basketball players, my friend."
"Who do you like in the Virginia Slims tournament?"
"In women's tennis, I always bet against the heterosexual."
Souveneirs, novelties, party tricks!
Here's a funny scene, but you kind of need to look closely: When Nick enters the restaurant, he's told that he's not properly dressed. The next scene (I forget if it was Hillary who entered or the musician that Nick upstages later on), Nick is seen behind french doors in a tee shirt and boxer shorts, and there's someone with a sewing machine. The next scene, Nick is shown in a formal tuxedo. Cute...
The one where they sneek into the german jail grounds, and there are the tall pair of boots...lucky escape!!

My sisters and cousin rented this a couple of years after it came out, and I remember all of us cracking up like crazy at the "Tutti Frutti" number and the old guy smashing his guitar. The dance scene before was hilarious and when my mom saw it she cracked up too. Man, I'll have to buy this and have my husband watch it, I think he'll like it as much as I did.
shareHas to be the sex scene on the beach where, at the end, there is about 15 arms and legs all tangled up.
The suss look on Nigels face when the camera pans up to him is priceless.
When the General is sitting down with his boots relaxing on the desk, then stands up but the boots stay on top of the desk.
The army trucks going around in a circle. (Hey kids, look! It's Big Ben and Parliament!)
When the resistance fighters are crawling on the ground, see boots in front of them, then the camera scrolls up only to notice that it is only a pair of boots.
And also when they are walking through heavy brush and making a lot of noise, someone shushes the rest of them, then the noise is muted.
"How do we know he is not Mel Torme?"
The dancing scene in the restaurant is absolutely bizzarre and amazing. Love that.
Also, the name of the hotel: Gey Schluffen, Yiddish for "Go to sleep".
Then: "Ripple Blanc" as the preferred wine of the House. (In the German dubbed version, btw, the waiter doesn´t speak Yiddish, but the accent of Saxony, typically associated with the German Democratic Republic over here, and recommends "Verdienter Wein des Volkes" ("Meritorious Wine of the People") and goes on to propose as a meal "Pochierter Anemonendruesling auf Tiefseeschranusen", which is commendably hilarious but in effect impossible to translate; might be something like "poached anemone druselet on deep-sea shromps".)

I'm trying to think of a movie where a guy is put into a car compactor and is squished into a cube. Is this the movie?
Thanks,

The whole movie is classic ... but here's a scene everyone forgot - when Nick and Hilary run out of the Theatre and the Nazis are chasing them ... Nick instead of immobilising their cars turns to a load of parked bicycles and shoos them .. the bikes all move off on their own down the street like a pack of wild horses.
Also when one of the Resistance guys (Chocolate Mousse I think) sneezes into his hands and then looks at his hands horrified and runs screaming and jumps through the window.
I've got to see this movie again soon!
Thanks for the reminder!

In that scene Omar Sharif has to meet this agent at the "State Press" which he belives is a newspaper. The cab driver just goes away and Omar Sharif is just questioning that this can´t be the "State Press"!
Maybe "State Press" is named differently on the original version!
Anyhow a very funny scene!
And later on, when he comes into the hotel and "explores" his new body....the antenna...!
In my humble opinion.

In the original English, the destination in question is a Howard Johnson's, which is a popular hotel/restaurant chain in the American midwest.

Every line Deja Vu says cracks me up. In Der Pizza Haus, when Latrine plops the pigeon on the table and it is discovered they had a traitor in their midst:
"Well done Latrine, I see you have taken care of him appropriately."
Upon hearing that Nigel wanted to set the alarms off:
"What does he want us to do now?"
