It's refreshing to see a movie with a teen lead who interacts mostly with adults. Not a fan of teen flics.

It's a bizarre film, that's the charm of it. Not many films like it.

The creative shots, but theres a few corney ones for sure
The weird sound track
The old man in the chair basically narrating the whole movie
Even after hes dead
The monkey deserved an oscar
Jennifer's act was razzie worthy but shes like 10 so meh

I just watched it with my girlfriend for Halloween... it's useful in that it's one of the very few Italian horror movies I can imagine showing to a girlfriend. Suspiria possibly as well though that one is a lot more gory and brutal in my opinion.

Personally I love the Goblin/Simonetti music here but I think the Motorhead, Saxon, and Iron Maiden music really throw off the tone from time to time.

I did own this movie for 20+ years before finally sitting down and finishing it. Watching it along, it bored me to tears and I found it way too derivative of Suspiria being set at an all-girl's boarding school. The insect angle could have been a lot more interesting (and is one of the very few Italian movies I can think of to try to focus so heavily on animals - the other is THE WILD BEASTS).

Watching it on a nice 1080 transfer instead of a ratty VHS tape, the movie certainly benefits as it's reliant on great cinematography. The kills and killer left me pretty Buster Keaton-like. I wasn't too terribly impressed, but it is one of the better mid-80's Italian horror movies (not like the competition is too stiff). Certainly a cut above OPERA.
