Wonderful trash

This was gloriously brazen trash and a lot of fun. Sleazy, graphic, crude, but with some great suspense and a cool noir mood. The apartment was amazing and the telescope perving music was really seductive and ultra-80’s, made me want to be in that world.

I like how De Palma makes our ‘hero’ a grubby loser who loves porn 🤣

My only crit is that I instantly knew that the Indian was ‘Sam’ in disguise, it was clearly the same actor wearing a very obvious latex mask.

It did a good job of apeing Hitchcock with a man obsessed with a mesmerising beauty, and there’s a bit of commentary on movie artifice and audience voyeurism, but ultimately it didn’t amount to much beyond a smutty erotic thriller.
