Who agrees this is Cronenberg's best movie?

I found this one better than his other two masterpieces, Dead Ringers and The Fly. It feels more dark and gritty compared to the more "hollywood" bigger budget feel of the other too. Videodrome scared me a lot more than The Fly and Dead Ringers and I felt it had a much stronger message. Anybody else agree?

P.S. What a great, haunting ending that has been instilled in my brain forever

I love it. I like S & M and I have tripped balls multiple times, which is probably my most honest answer yet.

When Barry tells Max exactly who he is, thats the bit that gets me now, Cronenberg forsaw the future of what some people will watch for entertainment that actually involves real human suffering.

Not only is it Cronenberg's best, its becoming one of my favorites b/c not only is it a crazy movie in itself... It was profound in how prophetic it is to reality in 2013. Dumbasses (many people, not all) think reality tv is real, and the point of real life is to be on tv.

Only Videodrome and David Lynch can me me feel sick, make me dream about what I saw. They are like the movie form of LSD imo

Give me A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method, Dead Ringers, The Fly... any day over this little SM fantasy play.🐭

Hard to pick any one Cronenberg movie and call it his best. He has gone on these insane stretches where anything he touches becomes a masterpiece. Though he's faltered here or there (I don't particularly love M. Butterfly, and Naked Lunch leaves something to be desired) it seems since Spider he's really hit a groove in a new phase of his career. I love A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis just as much as The Brood, Videodrome, Dead Ringers, The Fly... But for different reasons. Also, in between these stretches he made Crash and eXistnZe?? The man is a genius.

If you put a gun to my head that had grown into and fused with yer hand I'd probably have to pick Videodrome as my favorite. But what a prolific artist.

Remember... The force will be with you, always.

Agree. And by far. Existenz is not one of David's best.

It's my third favorite Cronenberg-movie. James Woods is simply excellent!

I think The Fly is far more better than this. It has solid sci-fi element, and since the story took not many places and the character is not too many, the chance of developing character is better imo.

It's so weird and yet keeps getting better every time I see it. Films like this are few and far between. Amazing film. That's all I have to say about Videodrome.
