Why do so many teen boys love this movie?
I haven't seen it, but it looks like it has a negative message
shareI haven't seen it, but it looks like it has a negative message
shareBecause teen boys wanna be gangstas with the money and the power and the women! They seem to tune out the fact that Tony is basically a wanker and that it all ends terribly for him and anyone who touches him.
Guns, drugs, sexy Pfeiffer, Pacino's barnstorming performance and memorable lines you can shout at your buddies!
Yes, pretty much all of that you said. The chainsaw scene raised a hell of a stink 40 years ago too, that was crazy violence for the time for a non-horror crime film.
I’d add Tony’s increasing drug abuse, paranoia and his treatment of Manny, his best man and ‘brother’ added interesting gangster drama to the whole thing.
I still think it’s a pretty great movie and I’m no teenager lol.
It’s a GUY’S flick, DUH
shareIt actually has a very positive message.
Tony was able to make all this money from drugs, but he was not able to buy Elvira's love.
If I recall the movie correctly the government was also behind him... I assume that besides trafficking drugs he was also evading taxes?
He also had many enemies who wanted to kill him... which they eventually did.
Crime does not pay.
It's the "Fly Pelican" scene. All the kids like it.
