If by "hurt" you mean grossing half a billion in 1983, then yeah, hurt me as well, daddy. Although ESB is the more respected sequel and a tighter narrative, this is still a massive cultural phenomenon!

it was called Revenge of the Jedi originally. but Lucas changed it because 'revenge' wasn't something that Jedi pursued in principle. #TrueStoryYouMightHaveAlreadyKnown

Yeah, there were posters and shirts which had Revenge of the Jedi printed on them. Might be valuable collector's items now.
