Why Did Luke Allow His Redeemed Father To Be Re-masked And Burned On A Funeral Pyre Like Some Cheap Pantomime Villain?

This seems wrong to me.

The last thing Anakin Skywalker did was to return to good side and help his son out. Yet, rather than embrace this legacy for his now deceased father, Luke either personally or let someone else re-mask him, so he could be burned atop of some deforested wood like some cheap Guy Fawkes bonfire night prop!

Surely this was wrong. Why did Luke allow his late father's body to be desecrate in this way?

Luke remasked him and gave him a private funeral. Some cultures believe that funeral pyres are honorable.

Qui-Gon is also given a funeral pyre, though public, so I guess the custom is to give them to Jedi.

To go along with the Kenner “Darth Vader Funeral Pyre Action Set with Real Matches” that was being released for Christmas that year.

Well you joke but The Force Awakens taught us that flames couldn't melt his plastic helmet, so who's to say the boys at Kenner couldn't come up with such a toy. It was in the pre health & safety era after all!
