Hard to believe Melinda Dillon was 43 while filming this movie!
I would've guessed Melinda Dillon would've been in her mid 30's because she looks really good for a middle aged woman.
shareMaybe its the fact her co-star that played the husband was older...or the way they made her look in the movie...but you could have told me she was in her early 50s when filming and i would have believed you.

In the case of Ralphie's "Old Man", I have a theory. These were Ralph's memories. He was probably remembering his dad as an "old man". Children often view grown-ups as "old".
My parents seemed old to me when I was Ralph's age. But when I look at family photos now, I realize how YOUNG my parents actually were.
