I wonder if anyone ever seen the ending coming? i didnt.. and dont know anyone else who has. But be honest, did anyone here see it ending the way it did??
and i wonder what rick was thinking when he saw gary at the end. or if karen told rick, its cool now , dummy gary took care of everything...
Honestly, I kinda saw it coming when the boy got off the car. I said to myself: "I think you're gonna have a surprise, it was too quiet, and he was too happy and peaceful." Much to my real surprise, I waited for something/somebody else, but that's even better, it shows lack of emotional stability to women, generally speaking. Even more, he didn't go straight away, leaving the scene undetected, maybe he wanted to see with his own eyes the whole scene or he wanted that they realize that he saw them. Either way, it doesn't do any good to either of them. Surprisingly, the film was quite good, for what I expected in the beginning, a light comedy, ancestor of "American Pie" series. Once more, doing the right thing will always get to bad things, so why bother??
Yeah me too, although I already knew this movie is going to have a sad ending but didn't know exactly how.But when he got off the car,I knew it was going to happen there. Its a good movie, although the songs repeating kind of annoyed me.
I sort of expected her to be with another guy because she was a dense slut...but not with Rick!
If another guy, I'd cry too. But with Rick...I'd be like "Oh, gimme a *beep* break!!" That a girl could be that half-brained to take back up with a guy who ditched her while pregnant, screw over the guy who helped her through the abortion....
The two of them at least needed food thrown on them.
As your watching it, I think you feel you don't want it to end that way.
But now that I am away from seeing it for the first time, it's been a couple days and I loved that it ended that way.
I definitly didn't see it coming. I mean in the beginning, this is a Porky-esque comedy, then it turns into a little Fast Times, then it's freaking Lucas. ahaha.
Watching it again now on VHS... Was asking myself these same questions as I read your post while watching the scene and...
Oh yeah, they planned it. But Karen was just a little sad at the end seeing how hurt he was, yet she really didn't care, because that's the type of girl she was.
Didn't see the ending coming. It blew me away. This film should be given more credit, it never seems to make the lists of best teen films. Even the Porky's series is better known.
When Gary drove away, crying- I was worried. I thought, 'oh no, he's gonna crash, either intentionally or accidentally, and die.'
But he didn't. That's the realism of the film - crappy things happen to you at school, and you still have to face your classmates laughing at you the next schoolday, there is no escape.
I never loved your mind, Dewey Daniels, I never loved your mind!
