A new more faithful adaptation of the book is needed.

I don't know whether Stallone holds the rights to everything Rambo and First Blood book, but I wish someone made a more faithful adaptation of the Morrell's novel. People who've read the book know what I mean, so I won't spoil it. I just wish someone moved away from the Reaganite crap version we got. It would make a nice indie period piece.

Well I've read the book but I'm sorry to say I don't know what you mean - it was as reasonably faithfully an adaptation as you're going to see. Ok - as everyone knows - the ending was changed following negative screening feedback but otherwise nothing major.

What I would love to see though is an adaptation of another of David Morrell's books The Spy Who Came for Christmas.

That could make a great fun film in a Fargo / Trapped In Paradise sort of way...

I frankly hate though that they made Teasle unsympathetic. The book Teasle would be deeply offended by his movie counterpart.
