The kids grab kitchen knifes? That should NOT have been incluided

I could not believe it. There is a noise and what do they do? All grab knifes and go outside. The mother tells them off but they don't listen to her.

How many stabbings can we attribute to that scene? It literally taught millions that if they hear a noise or have a "situation", you grab a knife and go investigate.

I actually think that seeing as this movie is rerun so much, they should edit that out. Just have them going outside and digitally erase the knifes.

I was 12 home alone(meaning no adults) with my cousin and 2 sisters. We did the exact same thing when we heard a noise outside. No one was hurt.

What the OP is suggesting isn't political correctness. You could call it overly protective and a symptom of modern times, but political correctness is a (sometimes clumsy) attempt to stop discrimination against groups of people perceived to be at a disadvantage.

If the scene had been a street gang containing kids of an ethnic minority, the request to remove that scene could be seen as an act of political correctness, as it stands it's just an uneccesary idea to make the movie more 'safe'.

It's called protecting themselves and I want my children to actually have that instinct. We can't always rely on the police to get there on time.

Hmm when I was 12 and heard a noise I would have grabbed a gun. Knives require you to touch them and if you are that close they can grab you.
